SO, after sitting for a but a week in the garage, went to ride the Experia today and noticed the MIL light on.  Cycled the ignition a couple times, no change, so I said hell with it and ran my errands.

Bike runs fine, but MIL light remains even after a couple of rides/ignition cycles.

Diagnostics in the display say everything is a-ok.

Plugged my OBD reader in and got a list of 21 codes, everything from low voltage to battery module communication errors to tps sensor...

Just called the dealer, the Energica tech is out on PTO but the other guy said this is the third one they have seen, one Ribelle and another Experia with the same issue, and the MIL stays even after FW updates.  Said they are waiting back on Energica on the other two bikes and said basically said for now, just ignore the light and ride it, they'll get back to me.

Curious if anyone else ran into this issue and if so, what the outcome was.  I did a search and nothing recent surfaced, so apologize in advance if this is a repeat topic.

First I have heard of that, but it makes me wonder if the real problem is/was low voltage somewhere which can affect countless other things, and give 20 more codes.

Are the errors all related to 12V stuff?

everything from low voltage to battery module communication errors to tps.  Bike was parked and battery was around 70%.  It operates fine so I think it's a software glitch or maybe a communication bus error.

I'm tempted to erase the codes and reset the light with my diagnostic tool (all standard OBDII protocol), but I'll wait to hear back from the tech first, don't want to brick it.

Here's the list if you're curious.  It's probably every code in there... btw my reader also seems to pick up the firmware version like someone else mentioned in another thread.  en.w.002110.042

I checked several of them and they were all 12V stuff. Makes me wonder if you intermittently lost your 12-volts. Could be a hardware issue, such as a flakey DC2DCC or flakey connection.

Where are you getting the code definitions from?  On my reader, the first code was low voltage 12v or something, but a lot of the other ones were comm errors to powertrain, battery modules, even a throttle position sensor error.

Yes, all could be related to flakey power supply or even just a loose connection, but if that, odd it would act up just sitting in the garage not moving.

Ahh, yeah. I should RTFM more often.  Experia manual has them listed.  Mostly all mundane stuff except for EVSE Emergency Shutdown one sounds ominous...

Funny thing is Experia manual has the charging fan error codes listed, and it doesn't even have a charging fan.  maybe the coolant pump then, who knows.

Well, the bike must have needed one more clean run.  Went for a ride today and the MIL went off as soon as I put it in run mode.  I'll just have the dealer document the stored codes when I take it in for a FW update, just in case there ends up being some hardware issue in the future.
