What is this supposed to show anyways?
« on: June 14, 2023, 04:38:05 AM »

So there is a screen on the Energica with the bar graph of energy consumption and says something like kwhr/mi and kw/last 100 mile or something.

Mine never seems to do anything.  Once in a while the bottom one shows 10.4, that is the ONLY number I have EVER seen on it besides zero.

The top one does not seem to do much at all, except goto 999.9 when regenning, otherwise hitting the throttle may give a slight blip of 0.2  0.4 etc kw.

What are these supposed to be showing me?  Seems something is not working maybe?

Right, I know you can change what you see in the setting but it doesnt get any better or more usable info.

How many KWHs you're using for the distance travelled.

It can be handy. If you have a 20KWH battery, you know that it will last two hours of riding at a steady ten KW discharge rate regardless of speed, uphill, downhill or anything else.

But of course, it will be difficult to stay right at a 10KW (or whatever) load. But the simple math can tell you your range a hell of a lot better than the range guesser (which IMO, they should either remove or have it show an average at all times.)

The first number will show your instantaneous power consumption, the second number is your average consumption. I would suggest you go into the bikes menu (hold mode to the right), scroll down to "Preferences" and then choose "Units" from the sub menu. Scroll down to "Consumption" and adjust the value to Wh/Mi. Once you exit the menus the dash will now display the values in a format that will better show how throttle input effects power usage.

The graph is consumption over roughly the last 10 miles, the top number is how much you're using right now, the bottom is how much you've been using on average over those 10 miles and is what your guess-o-meter is based on. If you're in a pickle and getting concerned about your ability to make the next charger you can use this screen to monitor your consumption and adjust to get you there.

Agree on Wh/mi; that's what I use. I find it very handy for instantaneous data consumption. "Hey this is higher than usual at this speed. Huh, must be a slight grade or a headwind." Or, the opposite. Sometimes you're making much better numbers than usual so it's, "Hey must be a slight decline or a tailwind. Or both wheeee"

I'll have to go in and tweak it and see if it makes a difference.  I got it changed to watts / mile so hopefully there is a little better resolution for me to see it properly.

Thank you
