I just got my 2021 S back from the recall. My local Zero dealer - Northwest Moto - had it in and out in about five hours. Mine was the first they updated. Zero sent them the step-by=step instructions.

Only took my dealer technician an hour and a half on my 2021 SR.  The way he explained it, the part was installed by Zero in 2020 in the newer Gen2 bikes to make it easier for technicians to diagnose the bike without having to key it on.  Unfortunately, they discovered a slight parasitic drain, and if the bikes were stored for three or more months (as can happen in some of our northernmost States) the battery could drop below 30% for a prolonged period of time which would be bad.  This really didn't affect me, because I ride all year round but I figured I'd have it done "just in case."

I contacted my local dealer in Fort Myers about having this done (21 S). He ordered parts from Zero that still aren't here yet. Dealer said this is low priority and gave me the don't call us we'll call you line. Emailed Zero a few days ago and got an email back saying they would check but want the part numbers ordered. Explained it was an always on OBD module bypass kit but didn't know the part and dealer is not responsive. Does anyone know the part number of the kit or where the part number might be available? thx

Wait... are you saying ZERO doesn't know the part number of the piece they're replacing??  That doesn't sound right.

I'm sure Zero does BUT not the person answering their emails. I took another shot with her though and here's her response:
Good morning,

The bypass kit for the Zero SDS/XMX OBDII Always-on Service Campaign is on backorder till June.

Thank you,

I was the first in the UK to have the recall work completed on my 2020 FX.
The install took about 4 hours and prior to the recall, my battery had a parasitic slow drain of about .5% each day when left unused.
The recall install has cured the battery drainage completely.

Even though parts ordered by dealer on first day of recall, am now being told by Zero that parts backordered till June.
