Price check on an SS9 13.4 kWh
« on: October 21, 2022, 09:53:25 PM »

A year ago, I saw SS9 13.4’s for around $13.5k, and it seemed like they sat on the market for 30-60 days before being sold for an undisclosed price. The one I snapped up was $12.5k, which I believe was under the market because another interested buyer contacted him the next day.

Lately I haven’t seen any 13.4 bikes at all for months, so I have no idea where the market is. Has it moved since last year? I suppose the EMCE bikes might have pushed it down a little and the 13.4’s are a year older now. What is everyone’s best guess at where a 2020 SS9 13.4 with 8k miles should be priced? If you were in the market, would you buy it at $12.5k? $12k? $11.5k?

Thanks in advance for any perspectives!

Ouch! I would hope that's an outlier and the market hasn't fallen that much on these. ~$9k is Zero S-platform territory.

I think the older smaller battery bikes fell to around half the value the day the 21.5 KWH battery was announced.

Fortunately, I could not care less about resale value. I will keep it until I junk it as I have always done.

I enjoy my 13.4KWH the most of all my bikes. I have no doubt it will still get a lot of use after I get my Experia.

The 13.4 is still a great bike for me to get to Auburn with a free DC Fast Charge at the summit where I like to take a break anyway. It's the halfway point and I look forward to the charge stop.

The Experia will be more for longer trips. Like for when I go to Bridgeport, CA from Reno (here). Often just for lunch. They have my favorite Baja Tacos there at the Barn.

I bought it after that big price drop. The only thing that's changed is the EMCE motors and the Experia announcement. I would be surprised if the market value is down by that much in just one year. Maybe FB Marketplace is just not a good place to sell an Energica.
