motor question
« on: August 20, 2022, 09:46:00 PM »

Have a 2021 srs.
I have noticed a vibration coming from the belt. But once I started looking at it, it came apparent that it is the motor. when I remove the belt and turn just the motor pully. it has this resistance that feels like it is notching. It will turn easy then have resistance then turns easy maybe 15 or 16 times a rotation. Is this just the magnets in the motor or is it something else

Sounds normal. Did something change in recent times on your bike?

The right side adjuster and adjuster bolt vanished. Once the new part came in from A1 racing, I reassembled it with lock tight as well as the left side. That is when i noticed that the belt felt like it was notching. That is when I tracked it down to the motor. At the time I wasn't sure if I had a bearing problem or not

Sounds like the belt is not tightened according to the manual.

Using the adjusters I set the belt so that it is just off of the left guard of the tear pully. Then using the Gate's belt app I set the tension as close to 70 hz as I could (recommend tension 62hz to82hz). Then I torked the axle nut to 75fp. Spun the wheel and if either belt alignment or frequency  was of , I loosen the axle nut an tried again.  Took about four cycles to get it right.
