Wiring diagram for SAE J1772 to Zero S charging cable
« on: June 09, 2022, 08:57:54 PM »

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the SAE J1772 Charging Adapter, Zero part No. 10-03267? I'd like to make my own version of this, but longer and with a plug on the end so I don't have to carry both the adaptor and plug to plug cable.
I'm guessing that there are additional components or links in the Zero adaptor to convince the charging station to give charge.

IIRC, the only thing a charging station needs to start is a resistor combination requesting an amount of power, that's it. The station will respond with a block wave to inform the charger the max it can deliver but all charging stations can deliver the 1.3kW the bike is asking for. I got a lot of info online from sites like https://openevse.dozuki.com/Guide/Testing+Basic+and+Advanced/12 about getting EVSE's to give me power ;)

EDIT: Also found this: http://www.analogevse.xyz/AnalogEVSE-en.html#Testing

The guy at Tucson EV will make anything you want, best cables I have seen for a Zero. I charge my 2017 Zero SR at 8KW (using external chargers) with his very high quality custom cable.

And not expensive at all, compared to the junk one sold by Zero, which I also own.
