New dashboard SR/F
« on: April 13, 2022, 07:24:43 PM »

I just got my Zero SR/F back from yearly service today, and was pleasantly surprised to see they updated the dashboard to a better looking one. Seems this is an update you cannot get from a regular OTA, as I already updated to the latest firmware before the service. :)

Edit:

I got some time to look at it in more detail now, and I found a couple of issues. One is I could no longer connect via Bluetooth to my previously paired phone. However, it was quite easy to resolve this by unpairing the app, then I was able to pair again. Not exactly logical, but this is the way to make it work apparently.

Auto time sync does not seem to work anymore, and the grip heating selection now randomly doesnt go away when trying to get out of the menu. Also, had to re-enable ambient temperature display. And my charging limit preferences were overridden by the system default.

Anyway, these are mainly minor issues, and most was fixed by fiddling around in the menu a bit.

I noticed some new menu choices related to parking mode and faster charging there, but those cannot be selected. I assume we need to wait for the Cypher Store to be up and allow for the relevant unlocks first, then of course you need to pay some $$$s to access those new features.

The service station said we can probably expect the Cypher Store updates / ulockables in June sometime, as Zero said Q2 to them (on their website they state early spring though, so take all that with a grain of salt)

When you connect to your bike with the app (assuming you use it), and go into firmware update, what versions does it say you have?

This is a dash FW update, it is not displayed in the app. If you got the Firmware Version on the dash, I believe you'll see 8v33, which is the new Dash FW for MY22.

I saw that a couple of weeks ago on the zmcowners facebook group, but I thought it was an April fool's joke. I don't think it's an improvement.

I agree its Not an Improvement.
I looked at it extensively on a 22 SR/S.
You loose the static Ambient Temp Display and the Menus are unashamedly crude.
I hope I can get Cypher Updates and stay on the 20/21 Dash.

That makes sense, I will make sure to do another OTA once it stops raining :)

Yep, most of them require the new dash version. I too also prefer the old one with the larger numbers.

You can still assign ambient temp to a quadrant though, through Preferences :)

When you connect to your bike with the app (assuming you use it), and go into firmware update, what versions does it say you have?

It now says
 Main Bike Board: Version 21
 Battery Management System: Version 19

After connecting to the app, it says I am on the latest firmware update, so no further OTA upgrades available.

The dash update and changes associated with it cannot be updated via OTA, it has to go to the dealer. So you're running the same dash version as before.
