Zero Firmware Release Notes - What is a BMU?
« on: April 17, 2022, 04:59:08 AM »

The Firmware Release Notes on the Zero Motorcycles web site lists version numbers for the MBB, BMS and BMU for 2020-22 SR/F and SR/S models and for 2022 SR models.  I'm familiar with the MBB and BMS on my 2020 SR/S, but am not familiar with the BMU.  Does anyone know what Zero is referring to?

Maybe stands for " Battery Management Unit", and is related to the new battery? ("Support for 22MY bikes and the new ZF14.4+ and ZF15.6+ batteries")

I thought of that, but I'm not sure how it relates to the 2020 and 2021 models, which do not have the new battery.  Perhaps the BMU is the same hardware as the BMS, but the firmware differs to support the new Cipher III+ functions.
