Winter Storage Status 2022?
« on: April 24, 2022, 04:45:48 AM »

I got my SR/F up from the basement yesterday and it did great in storage.  I had it hooked up all winter with the slow level 2 connector (120V in the US) with the max charge set to 60%.  This seems to have worked well as my 12v battery was still healthy and it was at 55% when I keyed it on.  I noticed the slow charger kicking in from time to time in the basement over the winter (I could see it blinking when active).

How did the rest of you do (or is it too soon!).

My DSR winters in my basement as well.  Only lost a couple of percent over 3 months.  I've been on the road on/off when it's nice since Mid March.  Started right around 60, ended at 57 if memory serves.

My 2013 S did not even lose 1%, also no change in voltage at all. Maybe cause it has less electronics than the new ones and no 12V battery

(I'm looking down the steps of my basement and wondering how you got a motorcycle down there)

My FXS was at 65% I think back in November.  It was at 47% and I never charged it (but did check occasionally).  It was in a non-heated garage so it got pretty cold.

I just took it out for the first time this year, today.  Unusual day in the 80's here in Ohio.

Luckily, I have a walk out basement (my electric rider goes there as well!).  The challenge is the slippery hill I have to ride up to get around to the front of the house (almost always soggy/muddy grass).  Always a nail biter!

Got the bike out to attend an EV vehicle event for earth day nearby last Saturday.  The bike got almost as much attention as my Ioniq 5 (wife drove the Hyundai).

I left my 2020 SR/F plugged into the Turbocord charger while I was away for a month and a half, and came home to an entirely dead bike.  The 12V battery was at maybe 3V.  I charged the 12V, and revived the bike.

But now it has a charging issue a few months later, and has been sitting in the dealer service department for over 5 weeks so far.

This is insane for a $23k motorcycle.  I love riding it, but right now I feel done with the whole experience.
