Hello guys,

I am new to electric biking, and have a problem with my 2016 Zero FXS.
When accelerating strongly it cuts the throttle, when accelerating slowly it keeps working. When turning the key off and on again, the throttle again works and the bike accelerates.

It has been stored in the shed for around 3 months, before I took it out yesterday. If I use it as a slow moped, then it works fine, but as soon as I turn the throttle it cuts off.

Maybe this part with the max voltage difference is important:

OK, it seems that this is solved by simply charging the bike to full.
When I experienced the problem, the bike was at 70-80% charge.

After a full charge to 100% she is back to her brutal self. It took only minutes to bring the battery level down to 32% without having any cut-offs in the process.

There is a tiny voice in my head that says this problem could return, but I don't listen to the voices anymore

If the bike had been sitting for 3 months then it's possible that the cell voltage went out of balance. Cell balancing only happens after the bike has hit 100% so it's a good idea to full charge it every once in a while.
