Story time. Back in September I had a mishap. I had to replace the throttle, a turn signal, and front brake cylinder assembly.

The bike is all buttoned back up and it works. I can ride it. But there's a check engine light that wont go away. The bike charges, all electricals work, bluetooth connects. But I don't know how to see what's wrong.

Can anyone assist in showing me how I can find out what error's it's throwing?

I dont want to throw out a misleading red hering, but when I started it last week and rolled it forward I dont recall the engine light being on. This was also before I worked on the brakes. Could ABS be throwing the code?

Apparently you can see codes on the instrument cluster. No codes are showing there (aside from the kickstand and kill switch, codes 44 and 45 which are temporary)

-Error 4884 is a Sequence Fault, no idea what that means
-4981 shows up a few times which is a throttle fault, as yours was replaced maybe it could be something to do with the calibration
-45C5 and 45C8 are to do with a high capacitor voltage but no idea where that would be located
-5182 is Alg In Wire Off but again, absolutely no idea what that means. This also happens to be the most recent and perhaps most numerous fault. All the others are from the end of September and earlier and haven't shown up since. The throttle error may even be from before it got damaged.

I believe that the only capacitor that will be monitored is the one in the motor controller.

Will that error ever correct itself or is this a dealer fix?

Is there a way to reset these myself to see what pops back up?

Haha, I literally just searched for "error". I'm pretty sure they will all be labelled as such, you can also search for "0x" but that will give you a lot of non-error results too.

As for the capacitor voltage error it only shows up the once on the 26th September so is just a one time thing, probably nothing to worry about and I only mentioned in case you saw that error code and was wondering what it was. You don't need to clear the codes, just keep an eye out for stuff that keeps popping up. Everything has a time stamp so you can see what error codes coincide with you noticing the check light being on.

I'm just worried if it's something like the throttle needing calibrated I'll go shooting backwards in the highway suddenly. I don't want to be catapulted again from the seat. Should I prepare to take it to the dealer?

Similar to the capacitor voltage fault I wouldn't worry about it, it showed up on the 9th September and hasn't happened since. When did you get your throttle replaced?

The incident happened at the end of the month. The 29th I think. Or 30th. Throttle wasn't replaced until around Thanksgiving weekend.. So end of November.

Eh, I need to take it to the dealer anyway. Front wheel is misaligned. So I can have them do the firmware updates and calibrations and everything else.
