Power loss Suddenly
« on: November 22, 2021, 03:19:34 AM »

Hi, today my battery dropped from 84% to 0 and had loss of power suddenly.  2015 SR w/2.8 powerpack was at 100% when i left the house. I had traveled about 3 miles before the power loss and pulled over.  I waited a few minutes and watched it regain the 52% and rode it home to switch out for work.  Any kinda of explaination?

That almost sounds like the main battery went away and you were only running off the powerpack. Did you plug it it to charge when you go home, and how did it react?

Can you pull the logs easily on a 2015?

Sure sounds like a battery problem. But to happen suddenly like that would be rare.

Have you noticed a large decrease in range before this happened?

I don't have an explanation but I'd be curios to know what it was since I had a similar problem a while ago. The range suddenly dropped significantly. I don't remember the error codes but there were two of them. I just keyed the bike off and on and made it home. After charging the battery when I arrived at home everything was back to normal as if nothing ever happened. Since then (more than 4000 km ago) I haven't had any problems.

My bike is a 2021 SR/S with a power tank installed.

mod edit: wrap your technical text in 'code' bbcode so it is more readable. Visually that's the '#' icon between the table grid and insert quote buttons in the composition window above the smiley face shortcuts.

Once you use the online .bin file converter, copy the text into a program like Open Office Writer and save it as a normal file. The file size should be around 200 kB if you do that.  You can then attach it to your post here.
