Unfortunately I don't have any kind of Zero chargers available here. Should it be only Zero-authorized charger or might be any with appropriate voltage? And will it be enough just to connect + and - to charging port to start charge? (with the bike's key on)
I'm asking since there is some communication wires from on-board charger to bike, and I don't know what is it for))
The charger still has to be compatible for other reasons (I use Elcons}, but the key on will close the contactor when the OBC isn't being used or when your OBC won't close the contactor because of a defect.
So yeah, if you have a compatible charger, all you need to connect to is the "+" & "-" terminals. not real need for the communication with the bike.
The way my Elcons work is they will only charge up to 95% SOC and then the OBC takes over.. If it did have the communication, then my Elcon chargers could be programed to go to the full 100% SOC. To me, that is not a big deal as it will slow down a lot near the full end of charge anyway.
BTW, have you tried to charge with the key on? If not, try that now. It could be just that your OBC isn't closong the contactor.
