You're not going to be able to fit a helmet in there.  It's too shallow as well as too narrow.  But there's a helmet lock right in front there, so it sits flat atop the tank.  I use a loop, but you could use the d-ring.

The idea of getting all that space is really interesting!

I was wondering if the material you used is near the top of the battery, and if it could get hot

@Gains: The glove box you created is really cool. I'd like to know what material you used and how did you make it so accurate

Even with the larger tub that @Gains made? The reason I ask is that I'm toying with the idea of getting fast chargers and having the 2.5 kW charge tank removed, which would open up that space. If I copy his method for a larger tub and then also cut a large opening into the CT plastics, maybe a helmet would fit?

The bike's frame takes up space under there, so the contiguous space isn't large enough.  The reason the bucket is shaped such is so it fits through the frame.

That the bottom is slightly lower and wider in Gains' modification doesn't change where the bike's frame is higher up.  The charger modules are individually smaller than a helmet, and so can fit in the spaces and not intersect the frame.

Loop for helmet lock is best. D Rings are okay just to keep the helmet from falling to the ground if bike is in sight.
A bad guy could clip the D Rings and walk off with your helmet, replacing your D Rings with something of their own.
Better than nothing, but, best to not tempt people with a shiny possible " Prize ".

Unless a helmet is a smart helmet, the repair is going to cost as much and getting a used one. Why would anyone do that for a sweaty thing?

I noticed that the battery, in the part in contact with the legs (therefore on the outside), barely warms up even in winter when you overdo it with the guide, so it may be that in the summer a part not exposed to the air may heat up more.

Since the material of the box is thermoplastic, I wondered if, even if it does not reach high temperatures, in the long run it could cause a deformation of the material combined with the weight of the objects that we would put inside

But maybe it is a false problem

Good thought:) the app also shows that the battery heats up indeed, but not enough, maybe to 40 or 50°C max. Should be alright, the acrylic can take maybe 100°C before deforming:)

@ rogerpiano
My "big tank" is made of glassfiber. It is a slightly modified part of the tank I made for my first zero full fairing in 2016. Back then I had a 2013S with a " handbagg" in the tank. So I made a new tank with 17L capacity and a hard cover (zero didn t have that yet). Now I can put them in original tanks.
