Student needing for assistance with OBD2!

Hi!

I'm student of university of applied sciences and I'm doing a research how OBD2 and electric motorcycle will compile together. I have come conclusion to that OBD2 is optional for EV manufactures to add in their product. But if manufacturer wants to add OBD2 into their product I run into a issue.

I have looked everywhere for information/standards but can't find what fault codes bikes will use? The information like (battery voltage levels, engine/battery heat levels etc.) I have already figured out, but the problem is: where I can find the standards for electric motorcycles and what information is needed by law, if you decide to use OBD2. Fault codes for to be specific.

I don't know that there's a standard for electric bikes, if there is, it would be in the EU regulations.

For Zeros, it varies slightly by model&year, but gen 2 (2013+ S, SR, DS, DSR, and 2014+ FX, SFX) are pretty well mapped out but not completely.  https://zeromanual.com/wiki/Gen2/MBB_Console

Unlike the automotive sector there are no laws mandating the OBD2 standard on motorcycles. Some manufactures have switched to this plug standard however the data being sent will not be arranged in a specific way (not required). Automotive manufactures are required to conform to a communication protocol (ISO 15031) so the CANbus data can be interpreted using off the shelf equipment.

Newer bikes that do not use OBD2 ports will instead use some other type of connection allowing technicians to receive the CANbus data.
You will need to decode the frame data being provided by the bikes CANbus. Each manufacture will be different.

There is talk about requiring OBD2 ports as part of the EURO5 standards.
