Zero S aftermarket upgrade?
« on: November 27, 2020, 01:13:50 AM »

Newbie to motorcycling here. Zero S is obviously the best machine on a CBT.

Is it possible/ is there anywhere in the UK that will install a charge tank onto a base Zero S?

Many thanks if anyone knows where in the uk there are mechanics who can tinker with Zero’s

You can buy a base model with a charge tank straight from the dealer, they're not exclusive to the R or 14.4 models or anything like that. If you want one added to a used bike then a Zero dealer should be able to do that (it's what I'm planning to do once I've paid off my DS). Zero has a dealer locator on their site to find the nearest one to you.

I was hoping to buy a used S. £14k new is a bit steep but I’m looking out for a £10k 11kw version once a few come back with around 5 thousand miles on the clock

I take it you want a 14.4 then and not a 7.2. Would a DS do? There's this one for £13k but it already has the charge tank which is a £2.3k option so that puts it close to your £10k base price.

EDIT: There's also these two for just under £10k, so depending on what the labour cost would be to fit the charge tank plus the cost of tank plastics they could end up being less than £13k.

And there's also this S, although being a 2019 I'm not 100% sure if it would be an 11kw model so you'd need to contact them to be sure.
