Best place to buy new color body panels
« on: May 27, 2020, 07:29:11 AM »

I just bought a orange 2016 DS 13. Looking to go all black. Where should I buy the panels from? Is there a parts list with numbers? Thanks guys/gals!

The colors are unique per year. You can look at buying new plastics from a place like AF1Racing by choosing another year. I'm not sure if there are differences in dimensions through the years, but you'll have to make sure the part dimensions and mounting hasn't changed over time.

The black sets are the only ones available once they sell out.

So your colored ones are technically worth more than the black ones ^-^

I will have to call Zero to find out I guess.

AF1 has sold me some pieces and they came alright ^-^

As long as you want black, you'll have no problem color-matching.

I received an email message from Zero yesterday offering to sell different color body parts for $497 for their legacy models.  Here is what the message said:

New colors and graphics are available for all S and SR models! You can mix and match new colors, logos, emblems, and graphics however you want or you can choose a completely new Bodywork Set starting at $497!

Contact your Local Zero Motorcycles Dealer to order today.

FYI, my email says "...starting at $120."
I do have an FXS, so maybe that's the difference.

Also, look at used parts on AF1... might get lucky. I got a used set for less than $50... faded but ideal for a respray.

Has anyone had any luck buying Zero's recently advertised body parts in the new colors for legacy models (i.e. 2016 SR)?  Is there any better visual documentation on the colored parts? The email Zero sent promoting the colors doesn't show the actual parts in the different colors.

I also received the email and wondered the same thing.   ???

They need to give us a big color wheel to make it easier.    They are original colors for the all 17+ painted schemes.

Remember each model of each year got a new color.   If you search our store for "AF1-BWK" you'll see all the kits

The painted S/SR/DS/DSR panels fit all 2014-2020 models, with a slight tank shape difference s/sr verses ds/dsr.   They are all now painted bodywork, not like the original colored plastic stuff 2014-2016

s/sr -- white, black, red, yellow, jet black, pearl white, horizon blue, satin silver

ds/dsr- graphite, white, satin green, black, orange

fx/fxs all the same non-painted parts -- rhino blue, black, white, dune

Well, the painted yellow clashes with the plastic yellow.  x-x

I'm just going to have to cover it up.
