Hi everybody,

I have a question regarding the non can bus 3.3 kW Otten charger:
Should the charger stop charging automatically upon reaching 100% SOC / a specific maximum pack voltage or does it have to be unplugged before reaching a full charge?
For clarification, I am referring to the "dumb" version of the Otten Lader without can bus integration.

Thanks in advance for your input.

With my two 3.3 KW Elcons:

They are programmed to stop at 114.0 VDC for Zeros.  That is around 95% SOC. You may leave it connected as the OBC charges to the last 5%. Or you can disconnect them. I often put them away during that last 5% of charge as the OBC is still charging. IMO, it works out very well.  It's your choice.

If you use two as I do, they need to be started around the same time or one may not start up.  A minute or two difference is fine.  I never tried five minutes or more difference  but that was what I was told by Elcon. None of this stuff has been an issue to me.

The answer is yes, it stops automatically. It's how it works for me.

Hi DonTom, hi Langemot,

thank you for the feedback. I guell I'll just have to check pack voltage while charging and see wether it cuts off.
So far, I haven't used the charger for a full charge but rather quit at 95% SOC and let the OBC do the rest.
