In "settings" in the Smartphone App, what is "Use US alternate provider" used for?  Who would need it?

Just a guess here but I would think it's an Android and IPhone thing.

BTW, what is a good SmartPhone to use with the SS9?  The one I use now canNOT be set to not time out. After 30 mins (the max time allowed) the screen goes blank.

And is there any that can be set to automatically turn on with voltage and automatically turn off without?
