I put the factory option mud/water fender on my bike so access is now more difficult & I want to change to an LED so I'm hoping someone knows the bulb info off the top of their head.
I searched the official & unofficial manual as well as parts catalog & came up empty.
TIA.

Did you find out what it was? The bulb socket spec is key to replacement usually. It might be W3W matching the running light up front, but I'll have to dig through my parts bin to hopefully find a license plate holder to verify.
-
Pretty sure that the DSR tail light is a sealed unit that has a circuit board populated with a number of surface mount LEDs. Not your standard bulb and socket configuration.
-
Yes, the tail light is a sealed LED unit but the license plate bulb is incandescent.
Looks to be a ba9s base.
-
Sweet. I’ll try to confirm that and get it into the unofficial manual.

..........

Nope!!!!!
Wedge base.
Not sure if 4 or 5 watt as both numbers are printed on bulb.
Tested and found .35 amps @12.97v so calling it 4.5w (hedging my bets) ;D

Can you be more specific? Specific enough that I can add a specification to the unofficial manual and be confident that any reader will know how to find a workable bulb.

Sorry Brian, wish I could have read the numbers on the bulb to be 100% sure of full specs.
At this point I don't even have the bulb.
I did find a similar size/shaped bulb & Im confident it's a T3.25 Wedge 12v (4-5w)

NOTE: The above is in inchs.
The following/below, is in metric........
I replaced it with https://www.amazon.com/SEALIGHT-Bright-Replacement-Courtesy-License/dp/B077YYW3NZ/ref=pd_sbs_263_t_0/140-0327801-0778812?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B077YYW3NZ&pd_rd_r=6783396c-1e70-498c-8f52-d27877330a9e&pd_rd_w=J0zD0&pd_rd_wg=qKl7i&pf_rd_p=5cfcfe89-300f-47d2-b1ad-a4e27203a02a&pf_rd_r=W6Q6V1CA2GMD9FQKQPMZ&psc=1&refRID=W6Q6V1CA2GMD9FQKQPMZ
which is about 9.3mm (wide) x 25mm (tall)
The key here is to replace the stock incandescent with a T10 SMD Wedge LED either in warm or cool white & 5w (incandescent) equivalent.
SMD directly on curcuit board due to their compact design/ sure to fit.

I also lined the inside of the housing with Aluminum (foiled) tape for enhanced reflectivity.

That's good enough, thank you.

I created the following short article for the tail extension and added the bulb information there:
