Title: Trailer options
Post by: togo on December 08, 2017, 12:59:47 AM
I'm starting this thread in General, because it might apply to other E-moto owners, since everybody probably wants more range or cargo capacity sometimes.

Discussion of how to interface batteries should probably go in brand and model-specific forums.

There's already been some Zero-related discussion here:

Title: Moto Mule [Re: Trailer options]

Zen mentioned Moto Mule in another thread.  Here are some thumbnails from google to give an idea.  Seems it mounts through the rear axle, so should be fairly universal.

ElectricZen added a TrailTail to his Zero:

Also an axle mount, apparently they look like this.

Mad Max trailers appears to require a mount structure,
looks like something one could fab onto a happy-trail.com
rack.  Not finding any pricing on this option, are they
actually for sale?
Title: mono-trail.co.uk [Re: Trailer options]

Another motorcycle trailer appears to be mono-trail.co.uk,
but they appear to "not be accepting orders for 2016" defunct.

May be available on the used market, especially in UK?

Appear to be another rear-axle-based hitch.

You also have Joe Trailer: http://www.joetrailer.com/ But is is also axle mounted.
Have you tried reaching out to a local bodyshop for a bespoke one. This is something that a good welder and fibreglass magician should be able to make for you.

No I haven't ridden with a motorcycle trailer yet. The TrailTail looks good though, and you get the frame only version to create your own compartment.

Thanks, Erasmo.  Site is JoeTrailer.com.  It's hard to take
them seriously, since their site says you can pre-order the
new model only, now, and that it "will begin shipping"
15 months ago.  But if you can find one used and need no
support, it might be good.

"**THIS IS A PRE-ORDER**
We will begin shipping September 2016."
