What size of hex wrench do I need to remove front axle bolt on 2015 Zero SR? It's metric, 18mm?

I measured it ~16 mm with a tape measure. I don't have a 16 mm to test it, so I cant take my own wheel off anyway.

I measured it too, looks more like 17 or 18mm to my eye. Tough to visually measure down to the exact mm. I'm hoping somebody can confirm by saying they have XXmm tool and it works.

My Zeros use end-cap type axles so I can't give you a measurement, but my YZ's 20mm axle uses a 19mm hex.
If you need a hex tool, this one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hex-Axle-Tool-17mm-19mm-22mm-24mm-Allen-wrench-adapter-Lifetime-Warranty/181857883730?rt=nc&_soffid=5013568303&_soffType=OrderSubTotalOffer&_trksid=p5731.m3795) should have you covered - I've got one, the quality is decent. Apparently standard hex sizes are 17mm and 19mm for the smaller axles.

you dont have to have a wrench that size to take the wheel off.
leave the pinch bolts as they are on this side.
loosen them on the other side.
remove the nut or bolt on the other side,
now loosen the pinch bolts.
You can now push the axle out.
most motorcycles are like this. Theres no reason for a large hex unless something bad happened.

Pinch bolts are only on one side on this bike, so that won't work. Also, the axle bolt is threaded into the other side, so a wrench IS necessary.

holy crap thats odd. I need to go relook at the fork. Ive never seen an axle thread into the cast end of the fork before.
I have a large hex socket set, but if you dont (and dont have a harbor freight or similar store nearby) you can use a bolt, with two nuts jammed on it.
use two wrenches to jam the nuts together tightly.
put the hex head of the bolt in the axle.
Use the wrench on the inside nut to spin the axle loose.
sidenote:
months ago I was in a bind and needed something similar. I couldnt use my allen headed sockets because it had to reach 4" into a hole.
I had a bolt but no nuts that fit it. it was late, so nothing was open.
I did have a welder, I rummaged around the junk drawer and used an old car brake caliper pin to weld up a custom T-handle.
I still use this for the same job, because all my allen keys are too short...
