Hello. Maybe maybe something did the MBB update without a dealer (directly through the app) from 28 to 37. Now shows that it is possible to update. Is it worth trying?

I did the updates on my 2023 DSR/X. No issues. But I can't say I notice and changes either. Here is the explanation of the changes:
https://zeromotorcycles.com/firmware
Updated: July 6, 2024
2020-24 Cypher III
2020-24 SR/F & SR/S + 2022-24 SR + 2023-24 DSR/X + 2024 S & DS & DSR
MBB V37, BMU V15 and BMS V26
New Features:
When the power pack gets to 0%, the motorcycle will no longer periodically wake to run system checks while keyed off. This periodic wake state will only re-enable once the motorcycle is charged.
Support for 3kW charger updates.
Bug Fixes/Improvements:
Resolved issue causing 12v batteries to discharge when the charge cable is plugged in while the power pack is cold.
Improvement to kickstand state detection.
General maintenance changes to improve codebase.

Hello If it's useful to anyone, I'll let you know that I updated without a problem via the phone app. Connection home WIFI, phone placed at usb OBD connections. Zero SR/S 2020

I received a FW update over the air yesterday. I'm at V38 and BMS V16 now.
The update was presented right after a battery pack change (under warranty) of my SR/F 2020.

Sure it is v38 and v16? The latest releases notes from Zero on the website shows that v37 and v15 are the most recent firmware versions. Or a newer version has been pushed and not yet published in a release note..

Yep, in typical Zero style, they have not yet actually announced the new FW on their site...
(I've yet to try installing it)

I just did my update from 37 to 38 & 15 to 16 on my 2023 Zero DSR/X.
Time consuming. Took more than an hour to complete both of them.
Perhaps two hours but I wasn't watching the clock.

I went to the dealer last week to get v37/15, and that was the newest. So seems that a couple of days later this new release has been pushed. Bummer, as my dealer is a 2 hour drive away.. may try it OTA this time, but only if this release has major improvements.
-
What I want to know is if they've fixed the charge tank charging rate issue (only get 7kW out of my premium+charge tank set up since I got my battery replaced, where before I got 11.5kW)
Cas :)

Why hesitate to do OTA? While it takes a while, you do not need to be near the bike as it is doing its very slow update.
Be sure your smartphone and bike are fairly well charged before you start. It takes 15 minutes or so just to find each of the updates, so don't let that make you think it is not working.

Force it, tell it to look for the bike, network update, plane mode and off, there are many ways to make it go and look and go oh hey there's the bike, now lets talk.

Maybe, as one of the updates is for the BMS. But I do not have the extra charger, I decided against it. If there were a way to use it externally, only as needed, I would go for it. But most of the time, I want the extra storage space more than the faster charge times.

Well, the over the air update actually started in the yard of the dealership. The dealer told me, that day, that they don't have that update on their computers for updating the bikes. I believe him, as they just had changed my battery pack and certainly in that process hat du update the bike to the newest firmware.
