Title: Curtiss "1" Press Release
Post by: JaimeC on April 20, 2023, 06:15:53 PM
Maybe it's just me but... the only thing I've gathered from this press release is that Curtiss made a breakthrough in "Techno-Babble" that would make the writers of the various Star Trek shows green with envy:

The only thing missing from the copy: "New levels of acceleration by modifying the main deflector array to emit a tachyon pulse at the touch of a button."

I like it.

"First with geometric and ergonomic adjustability"

I think it has a sprung seat.

Is there one guy that designed it or a whole team.  I wonder what that guy or team thinks of the way their press message goes.

I have to admit, I'm torn about the Curtiss 1. On one hand, I love the look of the bike...truly a rolling work of art. On the other hand...a 6 figure purchase price!? I guess if I were a millionaire bordering on being a billionaire I would buy one without hesitation but personally I think this is going to flop hard. Electric motorcycles are already a hard sell to the riding public in general at current price points. Even as beautiful as the Curtiss 1 is, a six figure MSRP for a boutique electric motorcycle I don't think is going find many willing to take the plunge.

Again, if I were able to find someway to own one without selling major organs I would be happy to own a Curtiss 1.

It's like an 8kWh battery, too.

Im sorry but to me it looks kind of ugly.

The 80's called, they want their Tron Cycle back !!

What did you do, take an old well pump or hydraulic lift oil booster pump off a 7FA, chrome it and put it on a bike?

If you like that kind of thing then I guess you could call it a piece of art, but 'art' like that,  Id not want to ride it and ruin it's value.

You should look up the earlier prototypes where the dog dick was even more prominent.

I agree with Fran... I love the looks and if I had Elon Musk money, instead of wasting it on destroying a social media platform, I'd buy one of these.  But seriously, the ONLY thing it's good for is trailering to custom bike shows, or maybe participating in a local parade.  Beyond that?  Nada.  Weird definition of "luxury" that company has...

sometimes socialist media platforms need to be destroyed for the good of the people.

it's his money, he can spend it any way he wants, no matter WHO disapproves it's his.

Why would he want that thing when he can build one himself that is probably so much more sexier looking, like the ribelle or an ego.

At least I hope he would make it look sexy, unlike that cyber truck abomination he rolled out earlier.  He should put that thing in drag and use it as a mascot.

You put only in caps.  Take it out and ride it come back and adjust the various chassis or frame geometry possibilities and try again.  That and a sprung seat is why I like it.  If it really works well they need to have demo rides and not give the impression that it is a museum type piece.  Maybe my ankles don't agree with something or if I tip over something will dig into my stuck leg. I also note they plan on making more less luxary versions but they seem to only state this basic modular concept is in their future.

Their press release is a bunch of nonsense.

To be fair, so is the bike.
