Title: Esse Esse 9 Seat removal
Post by: Ashveratu on September 30, 2022, 05:37:40 PM
Has anyone taken the seat off their Esse Esse 9? I have been examining it for a minute and there does not appear to be an easy way to remove it, short of jamming my hand under it with a torx key and unscrewing some stuff.

I don't recall having to remove the seat when I changed the fan in the AC charger a couple of years ago.

I am curious why you need to remove the seat.

I am considering modifying the seat to lower it some, being the short bastard I am at 5'6". I am also going to look into what a replacement seat costs (or if Energica will even sell one).

FYI, I have removed the seat from the bike successfully and re-installed now. I will post pictures soon (at work currently), pointing out the bolts to be removed and difficulty involved.

If only I lived any near a Corbin site.....

Side note: The seat switch (which detects whether the seat is open or closed) was not connected to anything....so I removed the switch and wiring completely. Bike is faster now!

Glad you figured out how to remove the seat, it's designed to be removed with the support plate. Once you get it off the bike it's easier to remove the seat form the folding mechanism.

Torque spec for the bolts is 8Nm.
