Title: Recommended FXS preload tool?
Post by: tynxt on July 18, 2020, 02:53:29 AM
Can anyone recommend a good tool for adjusting rear preload for the FXS. Looks tight with little room. I’m hoping to adjust preload regularly (2-up, top case, just me, etc).

Thanks!

They really tucked that preload adjuster up there...

Don't have any personal experience but found this in the unofficial manual:

If you plan on adjusting it often there might be a more accessible option in the aftermarket? HyperPro seems to be very open to custom solutions.

There are add-on remote preload adjusters available, although I don't know how you'd figure out if one would fit the shock you have. All the images I could find of them show them mounted on shocks with threaded adjusters, not notched ones, although perhaps if the inner diameter of the spring is the same it could still work. I assume they also need a replacement shorter spring.
