How to set spedo for belt swap - 2013S - KOSO Gauge
« on: February 15, 2018, 12:19:49 AM »

Sharing this info for anybody else who might need it.  Maybe someone can update the wiki with it.

I bought my motorcycle with the gearing changed; and wanted to return it to stock.  After I got the belts figured out, the speedo was off.

Here is the procedure to change it.

1) Turn on motorcycle.
2) Press and hold the Select + Adjust buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
3) Use the "adjust" button to increment the digit, and the "select" button to navigate to the next digit.

The stock setting is 1972 28-132 2P.
The previous setting was 1972 25-128 2P.

Mine is currently 1972 25-132 2P because I don't want to dig out the 25T motor sprocket.

Updated. Thanks!

This is also in the Koso gauge manual but the instructions are extremely generic.

Sheesh - I’m buggered if I can get that to work? No matter how I try, by simultaneously pushing the buttons I can’t get access to a setting that changes it?

On my 2011, the stock setup is 98T/28T. But after I hold the two buttons, it says this:
0555-02p

I'm afraid to change the values because I don't know what they're saying. Any idea what it means?

If I understand correctly, this procedure only applies to 2013 and older bikes.  I'd like to see/change the Speedo settings on my 2016.  Has that been posted somewhere, or us it now a dealer-only operation?

Accessing the MBB via the OBD-II port reveals and allows changing the settings that compute the speedometer reading.
