Just saying Hi
« on: January 31, 2018, 12:11:24 PM »

Ultrarnr turned me onto the forum and I felt inclined to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I am the service manager for the US side of Energica.

Just started digging into old threads and really enjoying all the community support for EV's. Looking forward to contributing information about our brand or any EV knowledge I may be contribute.

Hi Chris and welcome to the site. My name is Bo and although I’ve been riding for years I’m a regular newbie to the electric bike and this forum. Looking at Energica right now and liking what I see. Also live in North Carolina as does Ultrarnr. Been told that if I purchased I could get it serviced out of Mooresville. Getting close, just have to decide between the new ESSE ESSE 9 or the EVA 107. 🤔

Bo thanks for the welcome. Stoked to hear you are looking at our bikes!

I have a lot of riding experience with the EVA but I unfortunately don't have much seat time on the EsseEsse 9 yet. Sadly the weather has been quite crummy since we received the new bikes a few weeks ago. Hopefully I will be able to get some seat time in the coming weeks.

Ciao, Chris! The 7th new 2017 Ego sold in the US (according to the dealer) and the 1st one in Texas, is being delivered to me on Tuesday, 6 February 2018. I bought it from CalMoto without ever seeing it in the flesh. As a longtime Alfa Romeo owner (5 since 1973 - with an '83 GTV6 purchased new showing 469k (s)miles on the clock still in my scudderia), Needless to say, I'm attracted to Italian products. I'm in Far West Texas with a weekday commute on a lightly traveled highway through very scenic territory. I've been granted an exception on the warranty, so a local mechanic can provide me service, yet Energica has yet to agree to provide a service manual or any remote training to my mechanic. I will be commuting about 1,000 miles a month, so regular service is an imperative (~56 miles a weekday, round-trip). My electricity is 100% green, so no petroleum, coal or nukes will be used by the bike, except for the required quarts of synthetic Dextron to cool the batteries. I think I bought the last black screw set, which I will be installing on the bike next weekend, to complete the "black-out" of this gorgeous motorcycle. I will be trying to get articles published in area newspapers about the Ego, and maybe even one in Texas Monthly magazine, if it is of interest to the editors. I've only been riding since 2011, but have logged over 70k miles on a pair of 2006 Ninja 650Rs, mostly on the commute. Grazie!!

Welcome, Vodoo.  What is it about Texas?  Calmoto also sold their first BMW C-Evolution scooter to a customer in Texas, too.  It sounds like Texans are embracing electric motorcycles more than their customers in the Silicon Valley. Local customers seem to come in to ride the Energica demonstrator that they have, but then don't appear to be buying them.  ???

Yep, That scooter went to someone near Austin, over 400 miles from me! CalMoto, both in the Bay area, are the only Energica dealers in the USA!! The Zero dealer in Austin I contacted when I was looking at them is "considering" becoming an Energica dealer. I couldn't resist buying the Ego, as it ended up being less expensive than the 2018 top of the line Zero, even after I added several options. You have to admit, it was very "gutsie" of me to spend that kind of dough on a bike that I never even test road, but my commute is not anything like a commute in ANY big city.

Pleasure to talk to one of our new Energica owners! I worked directly with CalMoto for your bike.

Excited to hear your bike will be arriving tomorrow, I hope you enjoy it!

Awesome!

How long have you had it, and are you planning to own it for a long time, or to swap it out for the latest model every two years?

PRICING?
2017 EGO
2017 EVA
any special pricing?

At my local Energica dealership, Calmoto in Mountain View, CA, base prices for the EGO is $17,100 and for the EVA it is $16,100.  However, factory-installed accessories will drive the price higher.

You are braver than I buki67. The one thing holding me back from buying an Energica at the moment is that I have yet to sit on one. I was planning on seeing them at the IMS in Chicago but a snow storm canceled my flight plans. I am now planning a drive down to their HQ in North Carolina.

 Hi buki67,
I’m in the exact same boat as you, I’ve never taken a test drive or even sat on one but I am seriously looking at the EVA 107.  Also have gotten a lot of information from this forum and watching YouTube videos.
Let us know your thoughts after you get a few miles under your belt. I live in North Carolina and would be taking it to Mooresville for service.
