Im new to the electric bike world and recently purchased a 2010 zero. This is really my first dive into the electrical automotive world and look forward to learning more about it. Im a big old school car guy and know nothing about the probable electric future of cars and bikes. I bought an "S" that was a previous police bike and bought it with no charger and no idea when it was last charged. After some light reading Im assuming the battery is junk. Ill be on here for some research and hopefully I can get some good insight to get this thing running again. Thanks

Welcome! I am part of the 2013+ Zero community and help maintain a bit of an unofficial manual for the bikes.

You'll find that our support for a 2010 model is minimal at best, but I'll point you to some hopefully helpful resources:

Hi, eastwest7, welcome to our fascinating world! In what country you live? If it's US or Canada, or another country where Nissan Leaf has been sold in the past years, things are a lot easier: sustitute your 336 battery cells with 7 Leaf modules. You can find a thread on this forum with the recipe. If, like me, you live in a country where Leaf's are extremely rare, things get complicated. The best I could do was rebuild the battery pack, exchanging the dead cells for cells salvaged from other 2010 Zero's. This is way harder, but doable. On the charger, I don't know about the police models, but the normal ones come with an onboard charger. If yours don't, you'll have to buy one. It's a Delta-Q Quiq 1000, but others can be used. In any case, you will have to program the new charger. You can find further information in this forum and the Unofficial Service Manual (https://zeromanual.com). Good luck!
