2017 East Coast Road Trip!
« on: August 13, 2017, 11:59:10 PM »

It's summertime which means I am on the road riding my 2016 Zero SR all over the place.  After completing riding through the lower 48 I am taking a nice short ride from Maine to Florida this year.  I'm currently on the Blue Ridge Parkway heading to Blacksburg VA for the night before continuing down to Asheville.

Follow my adventures on Facebook by searching for Ben Rich - Electric Biker or wait for the videos to come out on YouTube under my username benswing.  (FYI, I also teach and perform swing dancing.)

Cheers!

Hopefully I'll be able to catch you on your return through Maryland and maybe ride with you for a few miles, or at least hang out a bit while charging.

(I met you last year at the chargepoint in White Marsh, yellow Brammo)

Safe travels to you.

while I like your plan, I have to warn you... if you're intending to get a hotel room in Charleston on the 20th or 21st, its almost impossible, and the traffic here is expected to be gridlocked.

Looks like a great ride! Hope the traffic and weather around eclipse-time isn't too bad. If you make up to Boston later, hit me up... we can go riding to one of the swing dances in town. I would say we should meet up at Frim Fram, but until I get some more charging and batteries installed, New York is a bit far for my FXS.

Ashvetatu, it would be fun to see you again.  I'll probably charge at Whitemarsh around noon on Wednesday August 23rd.

MrDude_1: I'm staying with a friend in Charleston the night before. I plan to go to Santee in the morning to get a good spot for the eclipse and then try to escape as quickly as possible.
rcavetroll: I can't believe there is another electric motorcycle riding swing dancer! I won't be up in New England again this summer but it would be fun to meet up. Let me know when you are in New York city

Here are some photos from today's ride at the tail of the Dragon.

The supercharger V2 is working great, ever since Burton helped me find a loose connection. Charging above 10 kW is awesome!

Cool. Leave early. lol.
If you get stuck downtown Charleston, let me know. I'll be down there at work all day (we have a rooftop patio)
Also if you need to use the visitor center garage chargers, they're usually taken by the EV guys at my work (they rotate them around) so they're always taken, but we can squeeze you in place if you need it.
