FYI, Cortech 10L "super 2.0" tankbag fits SR
« on: July 20, 2017, 05:10:05 AM »

I've been looking for a small tankbag for a couple years, and I picked up a Cortech "Super 2.0" 10-liter strap-on tankbag. It fits really well and holds the gewgaws and doodads I need. It's the perfect size to fit and not overwhelm the small tank area, and restores the storage I lost when I installed the power tank.

It keeps a loaf of bread safe and un-smooshed when I get groceries.

I'd post pictures, but it's STORMING again, and pics in my garage are usually potato-vision. I'm sure people have seen tank bags on bikes before anyways.

Thanks! Pictures will be welcome when you can arrange it; particularly to clarify how to mount it.

I've added it to the wiki aftermarket page:

Is that storm still raging out there? I'd love to see the pics of the Cortech tank bag on your bike.
Also, do you have the rough dimensions for the top opening? I ask because this is going to be for my dog, who's been riding on my old magnetic tank bag when we're on my ZX9R, or on my BMW tank bag when we're on the Beemer.

Heh--I was reading through the literature for the BMW bag, wondering how I was going to make it work for her, but she just jumped into it and stared at me... are we going, or what?

Ok. How did you keep it open for her with the flap open?

The flap simply tucks in between the tank and triple-clamp, and it actually makes a perfect little platform for her to rest her paws when she scrunches down behind the windshield.

Forgot to mention; ordered a commuter screen with my SR, so she'll be protected at 50+. We never go on the freeway and my previous dog died of old age, about 4 days shy of her 17th birthday. She rode at least 100K miles with me on various bikes during her long life.
