14 SR - No Go

I’ve just experienced my first real bike problem and I have no idea how to correct it.

The bike won’t move.
Note: The charger was replaced, but I don’t consider that a true Zero problem

Here’s the details:

2014 SR,  w/PT

odometer = 22112 miles

Battery = 100%
cycles = 2370
voltage = 116
amphrs = 113
kwh = 13.108

The bike has never been rained on and I’ve never washed it.

Bike turns on,
most of the time the main contractor closes by the sound of the click,
then sometimes not by the sound of no click.

Regardless of a click or no click,
when twisting the throttle, bike usually won’t move.
When it does move, it’s only for a few feet, then quits.
Turning the handlebars to either side - no effect.
I cycled it at least ten (10) times without success with the same results.

Good note - I was at home when it failed.

When first keyed on - Error codes:
0025 (first),
then 0049 (second),
then 0000.

Dash display - all seems normal.
Unofficial Zero manual - noting found ther.
2013+ forum - nothing found here as yet.
Visual inspection performed - nothing looks out of place.

Firmware updates - none as yet. Is that the answer? I’m still waiting for a reschedule call from Revolution Moto (Santa Rosa, CA). About a month ago, I arrived for my scheduled update and was told their only mechanic had just quit. I’ve contacted them several times but still receive the same response - We’re working on trying to get someone hired and trained. I hope this small dealership will get sorted out soon.

Hollywood Electrics has agreed to look at it.  I’ll drop it off on Saturday and hopefully they'll get to it next week.

Any Ideas to correct?

Perhaps a throttle assembly problem?

error 49: "The contactor is open because of some safeguard (like 25 but not a normal indication). Check other error codes and reset by keying the bike off and on. Check logs later. "

There is something weird with the contactor. Try and upload the log and have a look at it. If you feel unsure, you can post the log here and some cool guys will certainly check it and give advice.  :)

There is something weird with the contactor. Try and upload the log and have a look at it. If you feel unsure, you can post the log here and some cool guys will certainly check it and give advice.  :)

hubert - Until I read your post,  I was thinking the same as Richard (throttle assembly problem). 
The start up sequence, having never viewed it before, I believed it was normal.

Bike logs - I’ve tried to download them the last 30 minutes without success. Seems that the Bluetooth connection keeps dropping. If I’m ever successful, I’ll post those here after the bike is operational again.

On my iPhone i have to disable the "Fall a sleep" mode when i wanna pull the logs, othervise it'll stop the BT data transfer.

Update: I did take the bike to Hollywood Electrics.
It was there longer than expected because I decided on some additional items.

For the ‘no go’ condition, Tyler who worked on it said - “The issue you're bike had was the current sensor/contactor on you're powertank module was out of spec. We replaced it with a new unit.”

Cost for me was - None.  It was taken care of by Zero. The bike is almost 3 years old, so I was quite surprised by it being covered by Zero. I know Zero gets beaten up from time to time on this forum, but overall, Zero has always been more than fair to me.

After the bike was repaired, as long as it was there, I asked Harlan to perform these additional items:
[1] Any/All updates.
[2] Brakes - check and replace if needed. They were replaced.
[3] Wheel bearings - check and replace if needed. Tyler advised they were ok.
[4] New rear shock - I asked about the JRi shock that DougS talked about in a previous thread. I decided to go ahead. I’m glad I did. The JRi is a very nice upgrade.

At one point, Harlan called and mentioned the left fork was bleeding. So that also got taken care of.

My pocketbook is a bit lighter but well worth making the trip to Harlan’s shop.
If the bike breaks again, I’ve decided it would be worth going there again even though it’s a 500 mile one way trip.

It's REALLY nice to have some adjustability, isn't it? And that giant reservoir is just insurance against overheating.

If you figure out how to upgrade the forks, let me know! I'm okay with their shock absorbing performance, but I really want to get a quality dual-disk brake up front.
