Home made rear axle stand on Zero FXS
« on: June 04, 2017, 02:09:17 AM »

I wanted to make use of the hollow rear axle feature on my 2016 Zero 6.5 FXS with a axle stand, so with some surplus materials i put this together, construction only needed drilling, bolting, and  hack sawing, no welding which was a help as i had no idea if it would work. It works well, don't need to remove the batteries to use it, now belt inspection, wheel cleaning, digging out stone and glass chips from the tire is a whole lot easier.

Nice work! I have a handy through-bolt that I had for my V-Strom but its diameter is too wide for the rear axle hole on my DSR. I tend to use a center-stand under the rear of the battery compartment.

I've linked this from the manual just in case it helps someone else:
Zero: 2016 DSR, 2013 DS
