Helmet visor night vision tech
« on: April 01, 2017, 08:05:57 PM »

Now this is an interesting motorcycle visor technology, especially for anyone who rides in the boondocks at night. But you really have to want one (and hope it works as advertised) as it is not cheap:

That is impressive. Right up until the ~2.5k USD price tag. Aiming for 1500k USD is admirable, at least.

If you live where deer roam, this must make a lot of sense. And maybe those electric motorcycle tourers who ride well past sunset might benefit, but that's a lot of money to spend compared to lighting upgrades.

I suppose the only missing question is how long the battery lasts while in operation. If the charge time is two hours, I guess it'd last about the same amount of time?

That's the price you pay for the first generation of a new product market.

But I do like the way this is going with HUD's and night vision etc.

I posted this on a BMW forum and a couple of the respondents said it was an April Fools Day "fake news" joke.  If it is, someone went to a lot of work on that review and it is a good one and sure fooled me. But if it is, what is the point of a joke if hardly anyone gets it?  I still think it is a real product, if for no other reason than its price looks like what a new product like that might cost, but I could certainly be wrong and that would make me an April Fool.   ::)
