I use a cheapo, $30 Harbor Freight stand for my S model and never had any issues.  I don't THINK there is that much difference between the S and the SR in this regard.

I've got that same stand but never had a chance (or need yet) to test it on SR. I might try it during weekend and post some pics.

Funny, I called my local harbor freight this morning to see if they had any, and was about to head down there to get the $30 model you mentioned. Then figured, "maybe something like this, I should at least give 5 minutes of internet research"... Found a ton of folks complaining theirs failed due to crappy welding. Like, failed on day one or day two type complaints bc of weld quality. That's when I came here and searched to see if anybody had discussed stands for their zero's... and that's how I came across the pitbull thread(s).

Tough to swallow $150 for a stand, but I couldn't imagine the swirling fog of chaos and bad intention my brain housing group would be in if I put my $17K SR onto a $30 stand that failed and dropped the bike.

Glad to hear both of you are getting solid results from yours.

My local Zero dealer uses the dual purpose one and it also works great for the Zero and the other bikes they work on as well.  It should work great for you. 😀

I use a rear stand for my V-Strom that does not quite grab the Zero rear swingarm as well as I'd like, so I've dragged my feet on finding a new one. But I have a ratcheting center lift which works fine when I occasionally need one.

This one is probably the best bang for the buck.

This one jacks up whole bike. Works great for FX/FXS that have a flat bottom. Not sure what's under the other models though.

Ha, I have that MSR pro lift stand that works great with my Honda and Triumph, but is a bit too tall (I believe the lowest setting available is 9.5", which is still a couple inches too tall) for my SR. The SR sits frickin low to the ground. It's about 7" or so off the ground. That's why I'm looking for a rear stand. I LOVE that MSR lift. Really wished it would work with my SR.

I bought the $30 stand after another member of my club recommended it.  He's had his for years, and has had more motorcycles in that time than anybody I know (I think he replaces the bike rather than get the oil changed but I could be mistaken).  In any event he's used the same stand on all of his bikes without issue.

It won't work on either of my two BMWs due to their single-sided swingarms, but then I don't HAVE to because they both came equipped with center stands.  I bought the track stand for the Zero to make belt adjustments easier.

@Say10 Can you explain / make a how-to for tapping spools on the Zero frame, if that's what you've done?

Anyone else tapped the Zero frame for spools?  Would love to know what location is best and how it worked out for you...
