For sale: Chademo topcase
« on: October 28, 2016, 01:44:43 AM »

Edit: For sale now, see last post

Hello everybody,

As some  of you know I was working with a local EV builder to create a Chademo top case based on a JLD505.
With a SuperCharger on the way I'm planning to let it go.

The shop has used this kit to make Chademo inlets on cars successfully before but the Zero requires some extra tinkering to make it work:

I can always sell it back to the shop but as you can see it is already installed in a top case and I believe that some tinkerer on the forum might get it to work properly with a Zero.

Price etc. can be figured out later but I'm polling if there's interest for this prototype.

I have a few questions:

How well did it work? (tested power levels, tested stations)
What does the equipment itself weigh?
What are the dimensions of the core power unit?

The E340 top case is maybe not ideal compared to maybe a pelican case or something; how much work to extract it from the case? (Would that reduce shipping costs?)

Fixed it.

The first time I fried my aux charging port fuse because 85A was to much after all. I've lowered the intake and the handshake goes ok, the dash even displays an estimate but after a few seconds the charging cuts out, not sure why.
Perhaps the best route is to skip the aux port and charge via the controller. The charger that I use for testing is a ABB Terra: http://new.abb.com/ev-charging/multi-standard/terra-53-cjg

I can extract it from the case, no problem. It could reduce shipping costs but it might even be in the same tariff with the case, I'll measure things when I'll get home from work.

If you want more information on the kit itself: https://github.com/collin80/JLD505/blob/master/CHAdeMOKitManual.pdf

Mega kick. It's starting to gather some dust and the SC is nearly installed, so it is time to sell the thing. For €1000 I'm willing to let go of it, located in the Netherlands but I can ship worldwide if needed.
