Hot weather - worry about battery, or no?
« on: July 30, 2016, 06:20:04 PM »

It's been around 100 F lately, which makes the garage over 100.  Also, there's no shade in the parking lot where I work.  I know that kind of heat isn't good for the battery, but don't know how big the effect is.  There's not much I can do about the ambient temperature, but I could use a light grey motorcycle cover when parked outside.  Is it worth the hassle, or should I stop being concerned and just ride?

Use a cover at least. I've installed one of these onto the lid of my top case: http://www.kwikover.com

It won't affect the battery unless you are also fast charging using at least 2 Elcons or a supercharger.

^ Ben is right. 4kW should be sustainable without extra cooling.
