motor controler help
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:17:18 AM »

i have a Agni 95 series motor and was hoping to run it at 72 volts with regen. i was going to order a kelly controller, but i heard they are poorly designed and only put out half or so of the amps that they are rate for.

could anyone give me some input for a controller with:
72 volts
Regen
400 amps peak

thanks
Daniel

kelly is your only readily available option for regen with a PM DC motor above 48V pack voltage.

They're not shit.... i mean, they're decent controllers, but they are overrated. So if you want 400A peak, get something more like 600A or 800A from kelly. Their software is pretty easy to mess with, and they've gotten better recently. I wish there were other options, but there aren't.

a 600 watt kelly is going to cost me $800-1000 bucks. is this really my only option?

kinda a bummer.
