Regarding the H-D LiveWire, I am not holding my breath until it is manufactured and marketed to the general public. I never felt that electric motorcycles were going to be something that H-D would embrace any time soon.
Even Polaris, which is a much more progressive company than H-D, seems to be struggling with the EV concept.
Every motorcycle company loves to make electric motorcycle prototypes and concepts, but actually getting their governing boards to approve the vehicles for mass production seems to be a pretty high hurtle. No one seems to be sure if they will sell enough to actually make a profit. A few thousand a year is not going to cut it for the big guys. They are looking for a market of tens of thousands of electric motorcycles a year and are not seeing that sort of demand yet (in my opinion).
