If that is the case, maybe I will see on on the street sometime this year.  Do you know what shop is selling the Alta and if is it street legal, or just designed for off-road use?

I would like to know their real world range and long term reliability but seems like a more purpose focused FX.  If someone picks one up would love to hear about it.  Sadly I think they want to stay west coast for now.  Avoid the cross country shipping nightmare Zero has for major work.

I can't wait for a comparison review between the Zero FXS and the Alta SM! The SM is significantly more expensive, but whole drivetrain and battery philosophy is so different. I'm wondering if the SM is worth the extra cash or not.
