Saddle bag recommendations

Please post your recommendations for saddle bags.
Include photos please.
Is there an alternative to the stock Zero rack kit?

I couldn't find an alternative rack. You could have someone weld something, but you'll have to do the leg work to find a shop.
I got the givi Trekker 33's in black. The rear turn singles get a very slight bend from the cases, but they're fine by me.

I like these cheap ($50) Cycle Case saddlebags.  They are bright and light, while still carrying a useful load - when you finally get them attached to your bike.   ;)

I put Aero cases on my 2013 after a while using SW-Motech adapter plates (see the linked thread). There are adapter plates for Givi racks like Zero's for a number of vendors; check Twisted Throttle.

I bought the Cycle Case luggage, including the Cycle Case tank bag, from Motorcycle Superstore.

I wrapped the front strap around and through the round hole in the frame and the rear strap around the seat in the back, tight enough so they don't flap too much and interfere with the wheel or suspension.

Sportbike purists will be offended by how i treat a Zero SR



[1] Tried to post, got hit by the "image too big" thing.  Tried again, quality scaled down, under 600K and it just hung.  Trying again, this time with resolution rather than quality reduced to get under 600K.

Oh, and I should mention that originally I was going
to hang them from the crate, but that that would have
blocked the turn signals.

It looks like Happy Trail (www.happy-trail.com/) makes one of their SU racks for the Zero. Chttp://www.happy-trail.com/find-your-bike/zero-motorcycle/su-side-racks.html)  I've used these racks a lot on various dual sport bikes and they are great.  Plus you can fit a wide variety of luggage including Pelican cases as well as their panniers to these racks.   I don't know how it fits or looks on a Zero however.   :)

Another vendor adding Zero support is great news! And that rack is cheaper than OEM and possibly sturdier.

I'm happy to report that the happy-trail.com SU rack fit my 2014 Zero SR fine. Only concerns are the tight clearance to the shock reservoir and thatit adds to the awkwardness of reaching the rear Anderson port.

Any guess to how the happy-trail SU rack compares to the Zero top case rack featured grab bars, for passenger comfort?
Although what I'm seeing is that the SU rack is actually a side rack, not a top case rack?

very sturdy.

coexists well with the zero top rear rack, apparently.  instructions show installation with an existing zero top rack.
