Motor problems
« on: April 20, 2016, 02:39:08 AM »

Hi
I'm new here but wondered if anyone can help?
I have a 2013 Zero S and have water ingress somewhere.
The motor tries to run backwards and makes all kinds of noises.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'll start so others can fill in later (I know nothing about water issues or the impact).

The motor relies on sensors for timing.

Running backwards - might then be a sign of just being out of synch which can be corrected by Zero Dealers (and a few others) with a computer.
Or a failing/failed sensor which might be embedded in the motor and require more serious service.

Yep, water ingress into the motor can mess up the motors positional encoder.
