Issue with 2016 FX front brakes
« on: March 07, 2016, 03:46:50 AM »

Would be interested to hear from other FX owners who have had a problem with "howling" front brakes. Just replaced the disc and pads.....they were quiet for about 20 miles of stop and go street riding; then the howling returned. Sounds like an 18 wheeler noisily coming to a stop!
My dealer stated that "this is s common issue with the FX, but really had no fix to offer.
Any advice would be appreciated! BTW: The bike only has 200 mi on it.
Thanks,
Walt

Here's a link to my thread on rotor machining & remounting, which finally got my brake quiet & consistent after all else had failed, and also the one about
master cylinder replacement, which increased the stopping power significantly and turned it into a good brake.  Most of this stuff should be applicable to the '15-'16 FX.
