Zero headlight
« on: December 11, 2015, 08:07:30 AM »

Hey

I watched a Yamaha MT03 pull off today and realised the headlight looked very, very similar. Googling images, I reckon it's the exact same unit, (see pic with MT headlight alongside)

Good news for availability and spares me thinks. Did google around for model specific screens but didn't find anything other than teh generic stuff we already know about

Is the Yamaha one brighter?  Because I don't like seeing my shadow when a car comes up from behind me at night.

That is my next thing to research on this forum.

The headlight ended up being aimed way too low.  That that is in conjunction to my fork being way to stiff.

I aimed the headlight and I can actually see.

Any recommendations on a conventional bulb (not LED) that will is bright and will not mess up the optics?

I installed an LED light in my 2016 ZeroSR and love it and I am so glad that I made that change.

Which one did you install?  Lighting experts warn of the optics problem.

I used an Opt 7 from Amazon and others on here have too. I previously had a speed metal from cycle gear that was junk. I switched to the Opt 7 after the speed metal burnt out and reading about the Opt 7 in a post on this site. The Opt 7 is smaller, much brighter and feels much higher quality but its cheaper.

I will have to get the Led type that I am using for you. I don't have any optics problems at all in fact its better then what I had with the stock light. love it :)
