I just ordered a DS with power tank. What real life range can I expect in different ways of use?

On one ride that was mostly on minor highways and up and down several high hills, at speeds of 40 to 50 mph, I got 150 miles from a single charge on my 2014 S.  But I don't plan to do that again as I ran out of juice 100 yards from my home.  I would say that Zero's range/speed claims are pretty close for a single rider riding on flat ground with no headwinds.

That's not bad! I even don't get this with my KTM 990 SMT with 19 liter fuel.
Holland is pretty flat, so I could get even more I guess. As soon as I get my DS end of this week, I will post my achieved ranges here.

Averaging about 55 MPH and easy rolling hills I saw 106 miles once. Of course home was 109 miles away. Unless I know I am going to be under 55 MPH a lot I don't plan on anything farther than about 90 miles for trip planning.

I recently installed AZ Recorder on my Andriod phone, in order record the Zero app's readouts of speed and kW.  The AZ app works flawlessly; the odd thing about the Zero app is the fact that its speed display is 10% slower than the dash reading.  Since the dash reads 4% fast, the app reads 6% slow... [which is why I have the calculator app running with 1.06 stored in its memory;]

I find that by folding the throttle-grip flange over and pinching it against the handlebar mount, I can get fairly steady readings at various speeds...

I have been trying to fine-tune my Excel trip-planning spreadsheet, which is loosely based on what I found on Doctorbass' web page... a clip of which is embedded in my spreadsheet.  The speed and kW numbers shown were copied from the web page; preliminary checking looks like my '14 SR with power tank, commuter shield, and full set of Givi's is slightly less power hungry at the higher speeds than predicted...

I have already 4600 kms on my ODO and this is my trip record: 259 kms and 11 kms left (2015 DS with Powertank)

Local roads with elevations. Max. speed 90 km/h, but the average was much lower. I barely used the disc braks, almost all braking was done by regen braking.
I have to say, this way of riding is pretty boring

I don't know exactly, I guess somewhere around 50-60 km/h

I can offer a slightly different perspective to the question.

My wife and I enjoy occasional weekend rides through the Santa Cruz mountains on our identical 2015 DS bikes, generally in the 35-55 mph range. Mine has the powertank and the DS windscreen. My wife weighs 135# and I weigh 175#. So there is around an all-up 90# difference between our weights. We consume almost the identical % of power for a typical 80 mile trip. We track very closely on % pwr remaining, my original intention for the powertank.

So, my desire for the powertank to enable best distance for both of us was met very nicely. We've returned home from such trips with as little as 15% power remaining, on both bikes.

I have a 2014 SR, and I use it daily to go work on the highway in Belgium. I drive around 120km/h (speed limit arount here) and its 30km one way. I can do that easily 2 times back and fort before charging. So at this high average speed I get around 130km on one (extented battery) charge. But I know that if I take the backroads and drive at speeds around 60km/h I will get pretty much the double range...
