Mirror Extenders
« on: April 27, 2015, 09:49:19 AM »

I bought a pair of mirror extenders for my '15 SR - I can see (behind me) clearly now  ;-)

The left side has reversed thread - these are actually made for a Yahama, but fit perfectly on the Zero.

Two years ago I bought a couple of extenders (that I installed on my 2012 S) from Amazon.  Very useful accessories.   :)

I also put extenders on my 2012 Zero (I couldn't see behind me at all on my 2012).  The 2015 isn't quite as bad, but I still found myself leaning to one side a little to see in the opposite mirror.

Those look like they work well.  What windshield do you have?

Sorry for reopening the topic.

But I've been looking for a mirror extender for a while and I'm wondering if the bolts are M10 or M8 for the 2015 SR (which should be equal to all post 2014 bikes)?

The thread are right/left (Yamaha-style) if I understood correctly.

edit: OK :D nevermind. The wiki has got this covered: http://zeromanual.com/index.php/Common_Modifications#Third-Party_Mirrors

"The bolt/thread specification appears to be M10 with x 1.25 pitch, left-hand-threaded on the left side."

For my '15 SR, I got the stock Zero 2014 mirrors. Instead of the normal style with a stalk that goes up, these have a stalk that goes horizontally.

This places the mirrors a hands-width above the tips of the handlebars. No more "yup, shoulders still there!" problem for me.
