I don't know if the Brammo Empulse has ever had a formal recall before, but they have one now:

Note the number of vehicles affected.  That might provide an idea of how many were built until July 2014.

I would've expected at least 5x and closer to 10x the number of affected vehicles.
As the technology and products improve hopefully more people should be interested in joining this movement.

Sounds like they were being hand-built.  Just like almost every other high performance electric motorcycle in production, except maybe for the Zero and certainly the BMW C-Evolution scooter.

Brammo Quality Control just posted this link on the Brammo Owners Forum explaining the transmission leakage problem:

They also mentioned that they were working with the EU regulators to recall affected bikes in Europe to fix the issue.
