Anyone know the make / model of the connector so I can see how much a male version of it cost?

Yes, and Mouser is an electronics supply company in S. Calif that will sell to individuals, not just to OEM's. So you should be able to order the connectors from them over the internet.

I plan to do that also, in the near future.

If you want the dust-cover boot that protects said Anderson connector, Zero offers it through their dealers-- “Accessory cover, charge port” P/N 20-07055   $3.35 ea.

(Now that I have a pair of 2.5kW ElCons, I am planning to mount my quick-charger Y-adapter cable on the bike for touring, and I ordered a pair of dust boots to keep the ends clean between charging stops...)

Didn't bother with the dust covers. I plan on doing something else to "protect" my wires in the future

I ordered the 4 sets of pins as I don't know which aux pins I needed and I didn't know what guage I will go with for the larger pins.

What does the RMS signal connector hook up to? As far as I can tell, at least on my bike, there is no place for it to hook into. I ask because I remember Trikester saying he put a 100kohm resistor between white / black (the 20awg wire leading to this connection) and the ground wire on the connector to use the residual voltage to trip the contactor.

Not sure if I will need to do that right now but it would be nice to have for something else I am building

I believe I said the Blue/white wire to B+ through a 100K resistor. Wait a couple of seconds and the contactor pulls in and connects the battery to the Anderson.

Ah, you are correct, it looks like it's black and white but I was correct in that it goes to B+ not Gnd (B-). I'm in Utah right now and can't look at my schematic but I just looked at my trike and there is a brown/white and a black/white. I've got the connection taped up so I can't actually see the wire that I connected to but since my memory said blue/white (thinking a dark stripe) I'm pretty sure it is the black/white wire. It would be easy to determine which one works and which one doesn't. My guess is that the connection drives an opto-coupler since the drop across it is on the order of 1 volt. If that's correct, a direct connection without the 100K would blow it out.

Ok makes sense. I still don't know how it will work since it doesn't actually hook up to anything (the SIG to RMS cable) but I will try it next time I have my seat off

I wonder if I have to send those cables to my RSP-2000-45 somehow. I can wait till you get a chance to check it out. I am still waiting for parts to come in after all.

It should be a black/white to pin 38 and a brown/white to pin 40 of the MBB. In your diagram it is the 40pin connector at the right.
The bike can control two chargers separate. I don't have a Y-cable but be pretty sure it will connect one to 38 and the other charger to 40, so it could cascade the current or do what ever

Hope the S is same as FX!

You can see it handles the internal , 2 x external and could have a CHAdeMO

On my diagram it seems those pins are empty since I have nothing there lol >_<

So the "SIG to RMS" connector on the anderson connects to the attached 40pin connector on your FX I assume via a 2 or 3 pin connector.  I would hope they are the same but well will likely have to wait for someone with an S model to speak up

Have you checked my wire diagram against your FX ?

are you sure that it's RMS  and not BMS that you meant?

The meaning : Signal to BMS make much more sense than signal to RMS...


BMS : Battery Management System

RMS: Root Mean Square.. A term usually used in audio or signal treatment...

Good question. The text on the white tape labeling the wires wasn't exactly clear. Could be BMS. What is odd though is the lack of a connection for it to plug into.

I haven't had the seat off to check the pin 38 / 40 suggestion yet. It takes a little longer to get my seat off as I have a top case on top the back of it now with a very tight fitting piece of steel to deal with. Will likely get to it this weekend if I don't get tied up making my costume for a party coming up two weeks from now.

(EDIT: ping 38/40 is considered a workaround when you don't have a stock MY13 battery to plug in the short tail coming off the sbs75x anderson connector. It might be present on a stock FX13 but most certainly is on the MY13 monolith) This still hasn't been confirmed to exist on an FX13
