Power outlet near Ohio State University
« on: September 12, 2014, 08:38:59 AM »

Anyone know where there might be power outlets near Ohio State University.  I would love to take the bike to a game, but Plug Share shows nothing near campus.  It's too risky to take it that far without a sure thing plug location.

Depends on how adventurous you are feeling!  There are certainly outlets available nearby.  It's just a matter of how (A) personable you are and (B) what kind of mood the owner of the outlets is in.  :-)

I've gone across the country 1.5 times asking to plug in from strangers and have met with great success (and a few challenges).  However, I really like adventure.

I recommend a scouting trip to find an outlet, and get permission first.  That's a better plan when it is available.  ;-)

According to the "EV Charger" Android Application (which is fairly accurate in Wisconsin)
Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research
3x Level 1 Chargers
4x Level 2 Chargers
930 Kinnear Rd.

Awesome, thanks.  Should I assume a level one charger is a standard power outlet for my Zero?

Until a couple weeks ago, I would have thought the same thing about level one.
We recently had some chargers installed at work, two chargers in two locations.
Each location has a level 1 and a level 2. All 4 are J1772 connections.
There are several Charge Point chargers at one of our government buildings
here in Vegas, most offering two level 2 chargers, and, a couple offering
level 1 and level 2. On these, the level 1 is a door that pops up to reveal
a 120V outlet. As Suggested above, a recon mission might be warranted.
I am adventurous as well, and, am always on the look out for available
outlets.
