My bikes first 10k
« on: September 08, 2014, 03:56:28 PM »

A nice milestone, even if it is a way behind a number of riders here, and I did not put all of these miles on myself... ;)

Good to see another Zero with 10k miles!  Congrats!

What model year is it?  I don't recall seeing a digital speedometer with an analog tachometer.  My 2012 Zero S has an analog speedometer in addition to the digital one.

My 2013 S has the same instrument cluster. I haven't been riding much with the hot weather, but that is about to change. 8,600 miles on mine. I should have 10,000 in a couple of months. The only service I've had is a new rear tire plus the firmware recall.

I'm due a new tire myself, mind you I did'nt do the current one any favours when we used my bike to record a series of burnouts on a gravel car park.
Another thing electrics are useful for, making recordings where the sound of the ICE engine would get in the way.

I joined the 10,000 club not too long ago myself on my 13 S, and it feels quite liberating to have it continually pull just as hard with minimal upkeep and effort.

I've only had to pay for accessories, a new rear tire, and of course electricity. The bike has been to the shop twice; once to replace the rattling front sprocket and again for the firmware update. The rattle has returned with the front sprocket, so back to the shop I go.

I'm just to 3500 and might manage 4k by the first anniversary (October.)  I need to stop spreading my miles around to other vehicles!  At least several hundred of these were off-road, and a couple dozen Supermoto.  (:
